GAYLE WILLIAMSON started piano lessons at age six in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Studied classical music until age seventeen.  Started playing with high school dance bands in Fort Smith.  Played his first professional gig there at the TWENTY ONE CLUB at age eighteen.

After two years of college at the University of Arkansas he joined the U. S. Air Force during the Korean Action serving a four year hitch, three of which were in Germany where he played with several dance bands and placed in Service Talent contests. Back in the U. S. after discharge he finished college at Tulsa University, majoring in music composition.  During the mid-Fifties and Sixties he started playing combos in Tulsa night spots.  He backed many nationally known acts and singers with such Tulsa Legends as Bang Bang Jackson and Ken Downing.  But the high point of his musical career was playing behind the great Lou Rawls at a concert at Oral Roberts University. He is also a commercial Realtor with McGraw, Davisson, Stewart Realtors and an Emeritus Board member of the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame and a co-founder of the Tulsa Jazz Society.
